I had the privilege of shooting with Jerrica Raglin again in this fun shoot for Inspire Magazine (which sadly, has gone out of print). After seeing the first issue and realizing that it was specifically an African-American magazine featuring local artists, entrepreneurs, designers, businesses, etc. I wondered why I was hired. But I decided there was no reason to ask, so I just enjoyed my status there as “token white chic”. It was truly an honour to be there as a blank canvas to showcase local POC talent. Everyone was so lovely, full of vivacious energy (and lots of awesome jams. That hair was so much fun to headbang with!), and we had such a fantastic time that I was very sad to see the magazine go. I would’ve happily continued modeling them as long as they would’ve had me. But without further adieu, check out this super rad look the team designed! They called it “Futuristic Dread Fashion“. I called it the “Fuschia Matrix“. 🙂 (For those not in the know, that is meant as a compliment as the Matrix is one of my favourite movies of all time.)
I remember looking at myself in the mirror during the shoot and being reminding of the Twins from The Matrix: Reloaded. Then suddenly I showed up in print as a duo. Coincidence? I think not.
